lol...first of all...make a clear plan about WHAT you shoot...is it a girl with the dog? or is a comercial shot of a plant that you try to cell. If thats a plant then your shot and composition is OK.
But i am sure you were trying to take a photo of a dog and a girl...then why are they 8/10 hidden from the viewer?
Also...dont place your subject in a pose where poeple can make funny thoughts out of...like for me when i first saw this, i thought "Hey, dont take a pic of me, i am pooping!!!:...ok since you found me CHEESE!!!"

ok couple more things...
things to watch for:
1. streight lines coming out of head...that can be road in the background, power lines, or in your case water fountain...make sure nothing going on right at the head area.
2. white balance
3. depth of field...In your case the background is too busy. My eyes are wondering EVERYTWHERE on a pic. But it needs to be focused on a girl. So Depth of field should be more shallow i think.
3. Composition. Bring her upfront..follow rule of third or away from center.

Your biggest problems here are that you have the dog covered up, and the background is too busy. Great try...keep shooting!

Hmmm your title of this NEW PUP PIC....so not the plant, not the girl...but why your PUP is the most hidden thing on a pic? I can have grater view covarage of a fountain or a nice looking white fance on a background....everyting BUT the pup :)

That scene has some possibilities. Have the girl set on concrete bench with the pup on the table, he wont run around up there. Try maybe to use that goldish bush as your background, compose a tight shot.
