This is a true steam roller, the rear roller wheels on this thing are at least 6' in diamater

Bruce believe me there are even more than those. I'll have to go back in the fall when they have a huge open house and they fire up some of these things.
Tom, that sure looks like the big black steam tractor you can see in the background. in the fall they have some of those running

I think we still use steam rollers very like that over here for the tarring of the roads (tarmacadam? )
maybe slightly smaller but very like it

I'll have to post a couple I took of some power shovels and the cables "scary"
