I can't decide which one I like the most. Also, I may need to crop some of the bottom of the 1st pic but I kind of like the composition the way it is. Any C&C welcome. Thanks.

#2 seems more dramatic if that's what you're looking for.

I agree that #2 is far more dramatic.

I prefer #2 for the detail, though the bird seems a bit lifeless.

Each to their own I suppose :(
With #1 your footprints in the photograph show this for what it comes across as to me - you've found a dead bird on the beach, walked up to it, looked at it and then decided to snap it. I don't want to seem rude but personally I would move on and make something better. That's only my opinion others may disagree.

Thanks for all your comments! I just couldn't decide but it looks like #2 is the clear winner so far.

The disturbances in the sand to the left are actually mounds of sand made by crabs outside their nest/burrow or whatever you call it. There probably is foot print or two in there though. That's basically what I did, walk up to it on a desolate beach and it was windy and I had my 100-400mm but didn't want to change lenses so I took a couple of shots and moved on to what I was really there to shoot.

i think you should rotate the picture 180 and make it look like a flying seagull.

I prefer #1...to me the larger expanse of the ocean tells a better story.
Life is toufgh on the seashore.
I like the inclusion of the boat also even if iot is not part of the story...it does add intrest to me.
