Hello all, I just bought a huge piece of cloth and sorta did a DIY studio backdrop. It's my first time trying, so comments are welcome. Taken with just a 580ex mounted on the camera and all living room lights switched on

I thought there's a room for improvement, editing and lighting wise but no idea how. I think they look sort of underexposed too?

The first one seems a touch dark and the light on the baby's face is a bit harsh on the second one but overall I like the series.
That seems like a very studious dog too.

where are you pointing your speedlight?? Are you bouncing off of the ceiling or a wall?? If not try that it should help with the harsh lighting.

Last pic is hilarious!

Thanks guys!

It's actually pointing straight up, I'm trying to bounce it off the ceiling but i think when I was bending down it sort of pointed diagonally against the wall instead.

Is there a way to photoshop only the overexposed baby's face in the 2nd pic?
