I cant seem to find an answer to this. When buying a kit vs body only, does "Body only" mean body only or does it come with batteries and charger? I never looked at body only before.

"Body only" means that it comes with everything it needs except lens.

I bought my XTi brand new "body only", because the old non-IS kit lens were not very good. The last lens I bought latey was the 18-55 IS because it's a nice lightweight lens with decent quality to take when I'm not doing anything special.

Thats good to know.. I just bought a 50D "Body Only" online assuming it was everything but the kit lens. Only after the fact I thought about this. Thanks.

The only way to buy a new body without charger, software, cables etc etc is to deal with those shady Brooklyn sellers that break all the stuff out of the box and then try and sell it to you separately.
All Canon bodies from legit sellers come with everything, and 'body only' just means no lens.
