This was a blitz at owenbeg county Derry over 40 teams great day out all pics taken with 40d 70.200 i just wish i would stop cutting of their feet all comments and advice welcome just cropped and resized these

must try ive a grip on the camera to so it should be no problem thanks for the tip

Shooting vertically will help instantly with framing and composition. It also makes pictures more sellable as parents (from my experience) like to have their child isolated from the other players.
#1 and #2 are the best, it's just a shame you lost the feet in #1.

Good work Dessie, as Darren says try and isolate, and shoot vertically.

I love the intense look on #2. I agree with the comments on shooting vertically as well.

Thanks everyone for the tips going to a county game this weekend will try some vertical shots

I like #2 the best. #5 also appeals to the coach in me, it's too bad the far right child is cut off. Love the look of the boy next to the coach biting his tongue.
