Lens choices for Trip to Alaska?

Please chime in, I want to limit to 2 or 3 lenses. My choices on 5D MKII are

My list to take: 16-35LII, 70-200 2.8IS and 1.4X

I also have: 85LII, 50L, 35L, 580EX

I can rent: 300 F4L IS or 100-400mm

I'm leaving for Alaska tomorrow and will be taking my 100-400mm lens and will let you know how it does when I get back in a week if you want.

But what lens you need depends on what you plan to be shooting.

I went to Alaska last month. Your decision is based whether you are planning on photographing animals or just landscapes. I used my 17-55 most of the time. You need at least 300mm+ to get a shot of wildlife.
