I'm probably not the only one who's noticed that every time you want to photograph an interesting building, such as a beautiful church, there are almost always power lines or other wires that interfere with the shot. It's happened to me hundreds of times. I know it seems I am pushing the 10-22 mm lens, but it really comes in handy for those situations. This is the Episcopal church in Gatlinburg, Tn, taken with the 10-22, under the dozens of wires strung in front of the church.

That red door certainly adds alot to the shot. Nicely framed and the colors are great. Nicely done.

Great photo with good composition. The brilliant colors really stand out against the general midtones of the subject. How did you find Gatlinburg from a photographer's standpoint? It is a people photographer's paradise if you're sitting on a bench downtown. Also, the sunrises on Clingman's Dome can be fantastic. - Tom

Thanks all.
tbird, I've enjoyed Gatlinburg since my wife and I honeymooned there in 1963. Unfortunately, it has outgrown us, as we are not much for dealing with crowds. Someone interested in people pictures would have plenty of subjects there. As more of a landscape photographer, I find more shots outside the city. I'd love to get a sunrise at Clingman's Dome. Tried for a sunset last week, but we were socked in.

The red door adds so much to the shot. Good work.

I agree, power and other lines are pain. I always try to avoid these where possible but if it's impossible then PhotoShop works well sometimes.
BTW: Nice composition!

There were at least 12 power lines of various sizes in front of this church. I'd skip the shot if I knew I had to clone them out of the stone building.
Thanks for your comments everyone.

I feel the same way about power lines. Great pic.

Awesome photo. But is that church a church or a wall? It almost looks like the building ends at the bell tower. Like the angle you took it at, it looks so skinny. Very strange.
And I also hate power lines! Always ruin a perfect shot. :(

Thanks all, for the nice feedback.
cjm, I did a double take on that as well. However, you can see a light slate roof behind the trees on the right. Because the roof is overexposed, it looks like a gray sky. There really was a church there. LOL

Not 12 power lines but how about 1 washing line and a TV antenna. The line took about an hour to take out of the original (5MP) image
