Toronto Pearson International Airport hosted a 5km run on their 06R-24L runway on Saturday. Capped at two thousand entries, it was quite a sight to see.

I was covering the event for them and was unaware of the RCAF fly-by before the race start but managed to grab this shot of the jet...sorry, I have no idea what it is. Shot at 200mm from the ground, the image is cropped maybe 10% - he was flying low!

Then just as the event wrapped up another fly-by. Managed to get a shot of the jet with an Air Canada flight coming into land. Next frame was the jet sharply banking left ;)

Unique event to say the least.

Good catch, but this really should be in the "Share" section.

. . . ahhhhhhhhhhhh, make that a CF-18 Hornet - btw, nice shots Rubi Jane ! ;)
Question is, what is the aircraft that is banking left, to clear the approach path, maybe a Tutor ? ? ?
"T" tail, and what looks like a camo paint scheme - hard to tell from photo.

The brown Camo plane is a Czech-built Aero Vodochody L-29 Delphin.

Not to take away from this posting, here's what the L-29 looks like from the side.

Thanks for the ID - hubby thought a CF-18 but what does he know? ;)

Thanks for the ID on the crazy camo plane ;) Very nice shot and now I know what it looks like. I wasn't there to shoot planes but I couldn't miss up the two planes approaching each other. I expect it might sell a few prints to the race participants.
