seem a little soft focus... maybe due to not saving it at a high enough quality (I usually save it 8 or 9 quality on photoshop). You could also crop out a lot of the sky in both pictures.

I agree with Rad (Whoda' thunk it?) ;) If the sky was more interesting as in #2, I could live with that crop, but not as it is.
And the tree? Good light on it, but the tree is reflection on the metal, & you could have easily avoided that.

A tight crop at full width of #1 would look nice, kinda like a business card layout.

Thanks for the tips!
I could really use advice about soft focus, I think I see it often in my photos. This time I wouldn't attribute it to the shutter, since it was shot 18mm, 1/100sec, F/6.3. I figured it was the kit lens, but sometimes people post shots with it that are quite nice.
Some of it could be the downsampling - I let "Gallery" (the web app) handle it (fullsize here if interested (http://www.mikepirone.com/gallery/G35)). I used the exposure lock (* button) and then used manual point selection to focus on the car's logo (center dot).

advice about soft focus, - I let "Gallery" (the web app) handle it 1st, don't trust it to do as good a job as you could. Even a PS Action would be better, but I prefer this:
