I am wanting to do some long exposure night shot's. I don't have much expierience here and was wondering if there was any value in "exposing to the right" and bringing it back in PP.

Often times I will get what I think is the right exposure and wind up bringing it up in PP and that is what got me to thinking about it.

Ideally Yes....I would like to get the exposure right in the first place but I find I am having trouble with getting it right! for some reason I have trouble figuring where the histogram should be on these types of shot's. (hence my thinking...so long as it's on the histogram perhaps I would be better bringing it down rather than up like I usally do)

These are not star shot's but inevitable star's will be involved....These are just landscapes....Lake's campsites etc... And I like them to be somwhat dark to portray the time they were taken but bright enoufgh that you can "see them"

I have in the past shot a light of high iso...somtimes skimping on the Fstop because I have to hold the shutter. But I have decided to get the expensive timer remote to be able to get into better ISO etc...That and I want to do some Pano's also and my shutter finger muscles ain't what they should be. OK, I confess... I have a wirless that I can lock the shutter on but I still have to watch the timer and doing multi shot pano's this way get's tiresome also.

If anyone knows any good tutorials or articles advice or expieriences offhand that they would like to share that would be great also.
