Hey,

For work i'm taking photo's of a director tomorrow and a chief executive on Tuesday for my departments uses. It's just a free shoot but fantastic experience for me so I really want to get it right.

Basically Mr.X is going to be having a Cardiovascular Disease test, i.e. check his blood pressure, heart rate etc. So in a way it is somewhat posed as he's only doing it for the photo. It will be shot in an office building under artificial light.

What would you guys go for in this situation? My ideas are either:

(First sort out any white balance issues with test shots).

a) Shoot 5D+35L at a large aperture, with the focus on Mr.X's profile so it's identifiable who he is and what's being done, also with the nurse in the frame on the right.

b) 5D + 24-70L. Similar shot but probably shoot at about f/5.6 and bounce my 580ex off the ceiling at 45 degrees and with the flashcard up too.

I need to nail this pretty much first time so I really want to get this right.

Any tips would be a huge help.

Cheers,

Adam

b.....

YOU have control over the lighting, and will be able to shoot at a much lower ISO.

What are you getting out of doing this for free besides the experience?

Well I went for a mixture of a) and b). 35L but some with flash.

I basically just got shots for my portfolio and experience of shooting fast, under pressure, with relatively high profile people.

My boss asked if i'd take photos and of course I said yes. The experience is invaluable. If it hadn't been my work, maybe I wouldn't have done it for free. Oh and I WAS getting paid to be there as part of my normal job, so I guess I did spend 3 hours photographing NOT for free.
