This was my first time trying to photograph the moon. Didn't really turn out as I planned so if yall have any tips that would be awesome. Thanks!

What exactly were you expecting? Because all in all that's a lovely shot I think! Great colours, very atmospheric.
If you want the moon to look like the moon, you need a much faster shutter time. Around 1/200th or faster, with something like ISO 200 and f/11.

Adrena1in, thank you for the comment and compliment. I wished that the moon had looked like the moon for this shot. (it was one of the prettiest I'd ever seen). I'll try that next time. THanks for the help.

Because of the extremely high brightness of the moon, it is going to be very difficult to do a night landscape image in which the light level of the rest of the image is very low. The only option that I can think of is to make two exposures and then blend them in Photoshop.

Looking at it logically, the moon is in full sunlight, the rest of the image is in darkness (or in moonlight if you want to be pedantic). I don't know of a camera that can expose for both extremes of lighting in a single exposure; they just don't have enough latitude.

Nice shot I'd say also. Like was said, faster shutter and lower ISO. Maybe shoot in RAW and play around with it in PS.
