I'll bet she is a real "hambone"

She is. I've not meet a more imaginative 3 year old. She can pretty much animate anything...even when we try to get her to go to sleep, with only her two index fingers, she can cary on for over an hour in the dark talking with her two fingers.
We like to call her "spirited", she a pretty great little girl and not just because I'm her papa. She is kind enough to let me get some snap shots in here and there. She is unbribable as well which I guess is a good thing but it can be quite difficult to get her set up for a cool shot, so I take what I can get.

Wow! Those are superb!
#2 is perfect in every way imho! Great subject and expression, and great composition and toning.
Great work! I would buy one of those tri-frames, and put all the pictures together up on a wall.

These are awsome kids shots.... thank you! I am a real big fan of black and white but this little girl has such great coloring for once I really like the color much more. Lighting is also just spot on. Keep it up!

do you mind posting a couple more specifics? Like size of the softbox and its position, and whether or not you used a reflector?

I learned a new trick the last month or so in Photoshop about increasing density in an image to bring back some depth to an image...I know some look a little too desaturated, but that's just a phase I'm going through right now. See this post (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=71334) to see what the image looked like after each stage of post processing.
As for the lighting, I used my one softbox which was set at the standard 45 degree angle to the right of my camera. I did recently get a 32" 5-in-1 reflector (here I used the silver) and put it at a 45 degree angle on the left side. I'd say the box and reflector where about 3 to 4 feet away from her. I had a black felt background my wife picked up at a fabric store for the background. That's pretty much it. As you can see from that link to that other post, the image that came out of the camera really wasn't super, it was underexposed at first and flat (but not enough that some simple tweaks in PS didn't fix).
Next time I'll take a shot of the whole setup. I've got another post with a picture of it somewhere. The softbox with the AlienBee is pretty big (40" tall and 32" wide) which is a really nice size because it's about as big as she is.
