I think the full color version is better, because the tonalities in the second version are too restricted.

I don't understand whether the original capture is suffering from glare or whether there is some completely out of focus material in the immediate foreground. I think it's the latter. I would further guess that you were using the 55 - 250 at a long focal length.

In any case, the out of focus material, if that's what it is, is rather distracting.

ya I did use my EF-S 55-250mm lens. I shot it through a fence... =(
