Welcome to yet another year of GKPE.
I think we have forgotten what it stands for, but I know the K stands for Kiwi and the P for POTN
I also know there are about 40-50 active Kiwi members, and I know nearly all of them use this thread :)
So enjoy, be nice to each other, and remember your part of something far, far bigger.

They got your report and the assesors report mixed up
So I had to explain the problem to the lovely lady over the phone, who took notes, so she can explain it to the assesor, who visted, spoke with me, took pictures and saw the damage.

BUT, is there a way to just keep on shooting and have the pics pop up? At the moment, I have to keep on clicking 'import' even when I've set 'auto-import'... any ideas of thoughts? Ta!

Don't know about Lightroom but the EOS utility will do it and I use DSLR Remote Pro which is also pretty good.
There is a trial version which I then purchased (and then have not really used :(  )

Excellent lighting. Great portrait.
Age.. How much photoshopping did you do?
Don't have photoshop :p Though I guess LR does have the local adjustment brushes now... Eye sharpening was it, no skin smoothing. Healing brush to get rid of a loose thread on my right shoulder. There's a shedload of EXIF on flickr if you wanna pick it apart, LR stores a lot of info if you choose not to strip it.

When I shoot tethered I use lightroom.
You need to use the EOS utility and copy the photos automatically to a directory.
Then in lightroom there is a setting which can be used to watch for photos in a folder and automatically copy them to another folder and show them automatically.
It works well, but it doesn't automatically rotate the images (Not that I know of), and each time the connection to the camera is lost you need to re-start the EOS utility, and after the first photo bring Lightroom back into the foreground.
Do a google search for "Lightroom Tethered shooting". Loads of good results on the setup.
well i suppose i better add a picture to the new thread. And a new threads resolution...to take better pictures

Nice series. Surprised you got the cat to sit still long enough...
Thanks Peter.
Meet Wayne folks :D
Wayne the starfish.
Nice!!!
Might as well contribute to a new thread, since the other one is gone, along with its history.

Chris and Katherine.... Waterfall idea may be off until warmer weather sets in, because it is FAR TOO cold to stand round in water all day. Plus the weathers supposed to be crap for the rest of the week aswell. Sorry, but we will do this at some stage
What! I thought you wanted snow. The southerly will be over soon. Are we going to do something else? I need to remember how to use a camera before Africa.

I would go up into the Tararuas and get some reall snowy/frozen stuff but.....not fit enough
The easier option would just be to drive 3 hours north and you get an awesome mountain and lots of snow! Or you can hike 10 hours into the hills. Up to you...

(and about 50 friends to visit)
but i'll let you know next time i'm down - maybe i'll show you the caves up at the lodge - would love to go there again

Kathrine, your package arrived in P/North early this morning, awaiting RD delivery.
I put in a CPL in the box as well, not sure what the sky's will be like but may come in handy if there are clouds or what-have-you to bring out. (Or reflections from downstream of waterfalls )

Can't say I've noticed (using 350D or 30D), the filter is reasonably low profile, don't look that closely
