How do you transport and store them? Do you just keep them in the little plastic sleeves that they come in, or do you use a filter wallet or a hard case? I understand that these scratch very easily and I'd like to know the best way to store them to prevent scratching.

I just keep mine in the sleeves they came in. I bought one of the Cokin P Holders and they don't fit. I haven't found anything else so I use what they came in.

I bought one of the Cokin P Holders and they don't fit.
Do you mean one of the Cokin filter wallets or similar, or the holder that attaches to the camera? I've read some complaints about the Hitech filters not fitting in the Cokin P holder which goes on the camera, despite being intended for use with it. I noticed that mine just barely fit, and it's fairly tight. The Cokin holder seems somewhat cheaply made though, and the sides of mine aren't perfectly parallel but bend inward a bit. So if I push the sides outward while I slide the filter in, it's not so tight.
By the context it seems like you mean one of the wallets or cases, though. I thought the Hitech and Cokin filters were the same size? Why wouldn't the Hitech filters fit in the Cokin case?

Sorry for any confusion, I have the Cokin holder that fits on the camera and that works fine with my Hi-Tech Filters. I was referring to a little plastic "Storage Box" that Cokin Sells to store the filters in. You can see it here http://www.cokin.com/ico4-p1.html on the bottom of the page the P305.
I didn't try their wallet, maybe that would work but the plastic box was cheap enough that it wasn't worth returning but still took the loss on it so I didn't bother trying anything else. I would have bough Cokin Filters but at the time (before a trip) they were out of stock everywhere.
With that said I'm happy with the Hi-Tech Filters, I probably don't use them as often as I should but each time that I haven't I've been impressed with the results.

Hmm, the site doesn't say anything about those only fitting the square filters. Pretty irresponsible of them. Someone on another forum just directed me to the Lee holders (http://www.leefilters.com/camera/products/finder/ref:C475679F19BA40/), which I'm sure are pretty high quality. They're kind of pricey though. That seems to be the only brand designed for rectangular filters as far as I can tell, if the Cokin ones aren't (even though Cokin makes rectangular filters... )

I use a Filter Wallet that can hold 10 P size filters. Fits in the bag perfectly.

which hitechs do you have? p size or 100mm?
I carry mine (100mm) in an old pipe tobacco pouch, along w/ the adapter ring. Just happened to fit so I went with it:-)

My landscape instructor uses a hard CD case which he modifies with a carabiner to keep it close by. I haven't got enough filters yet to make it worthwhile but it seems to be a great idea (link (http://www.nickcarverphotography.com/blog/2008/08/28/custom-filter-case/), his blog seems to be having problems right now so you might try the Google cache (http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:yE2JW5_NxWQJ:www.nickcarverphotogra phy.com/blog/2008/08/28/custom-filter-case/) if that link doesn't work).

Take a look at the Cokin Z306. According to the Cokin website it holds five Z filters. I think they are referring to 100 x 100 but I am not sure. Adorama sells this wallet for $33. SKU: CKFWZ

Check out this (http://www.adorama.com/GBSFP46.html) (also from Adorama), which is sized for 4x6 filters.

I use the above mentioned case from Adorama. Works great. I only have three GND's so I use one empty slot for the Cokin Z-Pro wide angle adapter ring.

I also just got the Adorama Slinger case and it seems pretty nice especially for the price. I have only three filters too but it is just a hair too small for the lee filter holder to fit. The adpater ring fits fine.
