View Full Version : '56 "Corvette" (Sort of) 427

Earl's '56 "Corvette" looks like a Corvette, sort of, but there are big differences. For instance, the block is bored & stroked and started life in a Dart. Loverly fuel injected Weber carbs. .530" lift roller cam. '50s Caddy tail lights. Harley head lights. Bricklin tail panel. (He has a Bricklin, & every car he's built since has one Bricklin part on it.)
The rear end has been widened 2" on each side.

It took two years to build, was finished in time for Autorama, & has 9 miles on it. (Still some issues with the Webers & the computerized fuel injection.)

Damn that's a gorgeous car. When I read your paragraph I was expecting to not like it, but he put some quality work into it and it shows.

Nice shots but is it a 427 or not?

The Dark BigM has a stock bore of 4.250" matched with a stock BBC 3.76" stroke makes for a 427. If it is bored and stroked then its not a 427.... The BigM was offered in other bores too but the block was the same.

I use to lust after the Dart BigM when I had my Chevelle :D
