This cute little guy was part of a brood of at least half a dozen following their mother around, like they do. He just seemed to want to explorer the daisies and the grass and got separated from the family entourage.

It didn't take long before he realised he was on his own and, like many a child in that situation he decided to make a lot of noise until his mother came back for him.

These are all taken with the 300D and the 400mm f/5.6L at f/5.6 handheld. Comments are, of course, welcomed.

The first one is gorgeous with the grass and flowers adding colors. The second one's pretty good too. Nice shots.

Too cute. I like them both, but think #1 gets my vote.

I like them. As cfcREBEL mentioned, they would make nice post cards.

It looks like a baby Mallard duck.
In cuteness, it is second only to a baby Canada goose.

Thanks for the kind comments. I'm having the first one professionally printed as a birthday card for a relative.

What part of Essex are you from, if you don't mind me asking? :) West Essex, in the Loughton area. I took these pics and many more up at the Mole Hall wildlife park near Stanstead. Lots of good photo opportunities up there.

I never thought L series lenses would make that much of a difference, but those shots just look so much sharper than similar shots I have taken with my 'average' glass.
