The BTCC circus rolled into town at the weekend and brought (mostly) hot & sunny weather which got the crowds out on Sunday. I shot most of my stuff in practice & Qualifying on Saturday and just enjoyed the racing on Sunday, which made a pleasant change.

1. Carrera Cup GB - Tim Harvey (powered by Pie Juice, allegedly)

2. The best looking car (IMHO) in the BTCC for many a year.

3. Matt Neal bouncing over the kerbs at the Chicane in Saturday practice.

4. Tom Onslow-Cole with front end damage caused after Matt Neal dislodged the tyres at the chicane..

5. One of the few i bothered taking on Sunday. James Thompson getting a shove at the hairpin.

6. March of the Vectras..

7. "It wasn't my fault Uncle Alan, honest!"

8. Fun n Games in Saturday's Clio Cup race. The ideal spot for this would have been about 300 metres from where i was, but i wasn't there so this will have to do!

These are a mixture of 1DMK2N/50D with 120-300(with 1.4x) and Sigma 500 f4.5. EXIF is all there so you can figure out the specifics, if you can be bothered...

Ta for looking.

Cracking shots as usual Geoff, especially like the Matt Neil Vectra, very well timed, or lucky :-p

Nice set of shots Geoff, I think the one of Neal jumping the kerbs is the best one for me, I think I spotted you on the TV coverage at one point and I definitely spotted Mr Harrison.

Cheers
Ian

Nice captures however Matt Neal shot just pips it. Watched the last race as monsoon hit Croft! Plenty of action as per the norm with BTCC :D

I thank you...

O'Neil ?..Matt Neal's Irish cousin i assume? :p

That angle at the chicane's always a winner with the Touring Cars. If you're lucky someone will clobber the tyres there too.

Without getting into the driving standards and "BTCC ain't what it used to be" debate, there's no denying it's a good day out, i know i always enjoy it but not necessarily from the photographic point of view.

As for the weather, i was long gone before that particular cloud dumped its load on the track :D

Cheers all.
