So I found this photographer that shoots weddings. 8 hours for $900. He shoots Canon 40D and 400D according to the picture tags.
Here's a link to his pics (http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicktakespics/sets/72157619139896387/).
I'm pretty sure this isn't worth it at all. What's up with that tilt in the pictures? I might as well get some good POTN guys to shoot instead. What do you guys think?

His shots look pretty good IMO... What are you trying to accomplish by calling him out here?

Well, the "tilt" is a PJ style that some folks like to use... been the current thing for a while. I always ask myself, how will the "current thing" look 20 years from now. Will it look timeless or dated? But that's just my own personal opinion.
His exposures look perfectly fine to me, he covers the action fairly well and it looks like he's paying attention to what he's doing as well as the event. I don't know all that he includes in his package, but at that price it may not be a bad value for you.

Sorry if I came across that way. I just wanted some opinions. Thanks!

am I missing something?
I don't see a reason to bash this guy...
nothing wrong with the 40D or 400D.... the lady that shot my wedding has a 10D, and her work was amazing!
wedding photos is about a lot more than the little box you put the batteries in...

Definitely too much tilt for my taste, but the quality is really good! The little guys on the shoulders are too funny.

Np man - sometimes we misread a vibe ;).
The diagonal thing is just not my style. But that does not mean that somebody else can't pull it off quite well. And has been pointed out, how does he interact with people, get along with the B&G, hold up for the duration..... all those important little "non-camera" things. :D
Sorry if I came across that way. I just wanted some opinions. Thanks!

Are you looking for someone to shoot your wedding?
If so it's cool. I just saw your low post count and assumed you were out to flame someone.
Getting peoples opinions on the photog who's going to capture your wedding is good research.

Oh sorry I'm new here. Actually it was for an uncle's wedding. He's looking for some ppl. Can you recommend anyone decent? Maybe around under 2K?
I was thinking this guy (http://www.flickr.com/photos/riccoon/collections/72157602164500411/) since we somewhat know each other. And I think his photog is more timeless

What city are you or is he in?
You can post an ad in the "Services Needed" forum near the bottom of the home page, and surely someone will answer. We need to know where the wedding will be held though.

When I see that kind of tilt it always reminds me of the villains in the old Batman series! :D
As for the photographer, he looks to me like he knows what he's doing.

Photos look fine. $900 for 8 hours of work is a more than acceptable price. Not too crazy about the tilt, but the exposures look good and he obviously knows how to do some proper flash work from the engagement pictures. Also, looks like he is new to doing weddings (see one of the pic comments), so that's probably why his price is that low. Seems like a good bet, at least include him in your picks.

I too am not a fan of tilted images. I always saw it as a gimmick. However, I looked at the fellow's flickr and the images are well exposed. They may not be the most creative wedding photos ever shot but as long as the bride and groom are happy with the results, why should we complain?
Just my $.02
