Towards the end of July I am attending a wedding in Spoleto, Central Italy as a guest. I would really like to try and get some good shots so that afterwards I can put together a book for the couple.
I have a Canon 40d and my main lens is 17 – 85mm IS but I also have a 50mm 1.8 f/8 on its way to me at the moment. I also have a hoya UV filter and a petal hood. My main question is - are those lenses suitable to use? I imagine it will be very sunny where we are going and my 17 – 85mm seems to cope quite well in sunny weather but I just wanted to check if it will be adequate.
Also if anyone has any tips on how to get the best shots at a wedding it would be appreciated. I am thinking I will try and get more reportage shots rather than posed ones as they have an official photographer who is going to do those.
Also any tips on the best setting to use on my camera to try and get the best shots would be fantastic. I am still learning how to use my DSLR and have only just ventured onto the manual settings and don’t want to make a costly mistake on the day!
Thank you in advance
