I like the first one of the second post MoS. You can just tell by the face of that lady she is sooooo thrilled to be there with the baby.

The bride almost looks like the one that got cold feet and skipped town. And I wouldn't mind some grapes.

As far as the groom is concered, couldn't someone have gotten ol' boy a comb?

Very handsome couple and I like the background in that first couple of shots. If that was just the grapes then the food table must have been enormous!

A nice looking couple and excellent photos which look very natural and relaxed.
I notice that the bride's dress shows plenty of detail and isn't burnt out as can easily happen being white: how did you manage that?

Talent? Actually, I did my homework and set my camera correctly. I also used the 50mm/1.4. It is hard to take a bad picture with that lens. Setting were aperture 3.5. shutter speed 320, ISO 100. Time of day was 6p.m. When it got a bit dark I added my 420EX and diffuser. Thanks for the nice comments.

Nahhhhh.... but thanks. I actually enjoy doing weddings but I wouldn't want to depend on it for a pay check. Gosh, you'd never get a weekend off!

Adjust the second picture of the kiss to the same color temp of the first shot which looks right on. Great shots! Bright overcast day? Since you used no flash or reflectors, lighting seems great! I complain allot about the weather here, but you just can't beat that big cloud defuser, lol.

I used my Tamron for the wide angle shots and the 50mm/1.4 for the rest. I prefer the 50/1.4 and am hoping to get the 16-35/L for my birthday this week:D :D I think I would prefer that over the Tamron.
Thanks for the nice comments.

Great shots Maureen.... BTW... here is a sample shot of a wedding I did last weekend.... unfortunately, I had to do it with the standard 20D "kit" lens.... not enough $$$ for the prime and L glass before this one... I am good for the next one in a few weeks though. The wedding was difficult to shoot to say the least... very overcast (which I like) then went to bright sunlight... had to readjust everything just when I had it all set for overcast! ARG! This one was taken in the limo with strong sunshine to their backside... used fill flash to compensate. Still working on the photos (over 400 of em to go through... now I know why wedding photogs earn their money). Anyway, the experience was fun, and in the end, they should have some great shots to keep. What is the average amount of shots to present to a B&G? I probably could come up with 100-150, but is that too many? Not sure.....

They look a lovely couple, and nice shots too.
I just got married 2 months ago...... second time around for me.
Was love at first sight and I REALLY didn't believe it existed. (Soppy I know, but very true)
Best of luck to them, and I hope they are as happy as I am.

Mad Dog,
I've heard of love at first sight, still waiting to be convinceds of it's existance! ;) My friend who just got married did meet her husband online. One date and they hit it off right away. She met his best friend and his wife on their second date. A few months later he wanted her to move in with him. Half a year later they bought a house. One year after they met he proposed. :)

Very nice shots indeed, i've just been asked to shoot a wedding in July. I used to take wedding photo's myself on 35mm, but now i'm using a digy cam but the one i've got is the Canon G6, now people are saying that this will be no good but i have taken many shots with this little gem and have the absolute confidence that this G6 will do justice, so far it has taken some fantastic shots of all kinds and i can't really fault it except that the 400 iso setting is very noisey but that would be ok for something like sports. But i will make sure that the G6 will stand up to its name?
Talent? Actually, I did my homework and set my camera correctly. I also used the 50mm/1.4. It is hard to take a bad picture with that lens. Setting were aperture 3.5. shutter speed 320, ISO 100. I am not very expensive since I have my own wide format printer (Epson 2200) and premium luster papers at home.
I charge:
$15-8x10
$25-11x14
$40-12x16

I really don't want to give up my nursing career but enjoy the part-time photography gigs. I love doing weddings....so far I haven't had any BlooDog experiences. I have also done pregnancy shoots, new borns (Brand New) and several family reunions. I'm having a blast.

I don't think there is a standard number to present to the B&G...it depends. The last wedding I did, I took 243 photos in 4 hours and presented 120. But I am doing a 12 hour wedding day in 3 weeks and I have enough GB (5GB) to shoot a couple thousand photos. The bride wants every detail of the day recorded. So goodness knows how many photos I'll have to present to her............I am sure it will be well over 500. A few photographers I know try to keep it under 100 but I am a free spirit and do what I want :D :D

I feel your pain... the last wedding I just did was 12 hours.... I actually needed to run and get extra CF cards! In the end, we ended up with close to 600 shots.... it was a large wedding (Irish/Italian) and every family wanted shots taken, etc, etc, etc, I think we got some great stuff however, the post-production time is killing me! BTW I too am an RN (actually Asst. Nurse Manager in a Trauma Center ED) and time can be limited by my full-time gig.... would love to do the wedding and sports thing full-time. Has anyone ever broken out of the RN-gig to go Photo full-time that you know of? There are several of us at work that are Canon-addicts dreaming of breaking out..... oh well.... to dream... is bliss

I am the only RN in my facility that does photography too. I love being a nurse so I haven't even thought of going full time into photography. Besides, the benefits package is very lacking.........
Would like to see some more of your work...post a handful after you get done with your editing, okay?

Of the wedding... sure! I have tons of other stuff.... really, too much to even start to post... don't want to hog bandwidth. Your work is great! Really.... I love the candid shot of the piano player. I really am not a big fan of formal posed wedding shots. Very "blah." I think you will see that when I post mine..... keep an eye out! As for no benefits... well.... that's true.... hospitals do offer a better package than you or I could afford on our own with "hit and miss" assignments. But still... I would love to be able to shoot and that is it... maybe take a shift or two per week in the E.R. But other than that... would still rather shoot. And I'm not the only one (as stated before).
