Some of the pics from my newborn session yesterday! He was pretty good, we kinda ran out of light at the end, so I had to move outside their sliding door and shoot in for more room - lol
My fave one I promised I wouldn't put online yet - it's a surprise for her hubbs for Fathers Day, but I'll come back and share it later :)

these are beautiful! how do your baby's stay posed like that? I know when they are really newborn they are easy to pose but I've had no luck with little ones once they hit the 10 day mark, and in my last newborn session the little guys (8 days old) shoulder blade was broken so no special props for him either.

Why heat? Does that make them sleepy?

Often the nude babies will get chilled in the air conditioning. ;)

Thanks everyone!

Why heat? Does that make them sleepy?

Heat really helps make them sleepy, and keeps them asleep! They like it 76+, I have parents turn up the heat like an hour before I arrive, and I bring a space heater that I set to 78, and have it blowing on them pretty much the entire session. They love it!!

very nice!!

Thanks! I used my 5D Mark II and 24-70 for all these shots. I had natural light coming in through their sliding doors behind me, and my flash on a light stand bounced off the ceiling to fill in the shadows. I shoot fully manual, and wide open, so I was in between 1/125 and 1/200 for pretty much the entire shoot. Toward the end we were running out of light, so I cranked up my ISO to 1000!
Hope that helps!
