Hi,

I recently installed and removed CHDK from my SX10IS, I am noticing something that I don't think was happening beforehand.

The full display(exposure meter, icons on the top and left etc) only appear when the display is set to grid mode on either the LCD or viewfinder. When I change camera modes from Automatic to anything else, the full display is there without the grid. After taking a picture only the adjustable settings like shutter speed are displayed on the bottom, nothing else. If I put it back in grid mode, everything is displayed.

Is this normal behavior or a result of installing and removing CHDK?

NO CHDK can not control your display when it's not running, it will only add to your stock display not delete . you must boot into CHDK or start CHDK with the firmware update for any display changes. The canon display button is a toggle and will toggle thru several options that are not common in shoot or play modes. Also some of the options may be stored at power down, you may have changed something that is stored in memory.
