Has anyone here tried photographing wild Manzanita trees? The bark when hit with sunlight will gives off this rich iluminiscent shine - like fine copper. I took about 20 shots during my last hike and none of them came close to showing the true beauty and luster found in the Manzanita bark. Below is an example of one of my dull shots...

Help please! Any suggestions? Do you use or do anything to help bring out the luster in Manzanita bark?

Use a CPL to cut any reflection/glare from the sun. That will help dramatically. Or just wait for a day when it's overcast/cloudy.

Good luck.
