Well I finally got the chance to capture the galaxy that started my interest in astronomy. Last year I spotted an image of M104 and had it as my desktop while I read astro forums and searched for a scope.
Clouds cleared in Sydney the other night and I decided to see what I could get of it.
12 x 2min + darks & flats. iso1600, 100ed unguided. Stacked in DSS and the usual tweaking in PS.

Attached are the full frame and a crop version.

Unfortunately the camera had less battery power than I thought so I couldn't get more shots.
Its certainly not to the standard of the shot that was on my desktop but I'm happy .
:D

Good Captures. Its A small toughy at Mag 9. You got the dust lane that is a feature of this one quite nicely.
