28-90mm lens (Widest i have)

i want to travel light so i can manouver around object and stuff easily!
Is there anything else that is vital that people think that i should take with me?
and any interesting techniques i should be thinking of when im shooting?

Resparator*, steel-toed boots, hard hat and an insurance policy.
I'd also let someone you trust (to not rat you out and to have your back) know where you're going and when you expect to return.
(* Vital if it's a deconstruction or resoration site due to asbestos and other airborne crud...)

Good insight from a wise photog.

Dunno about that...
I marvel at the images some bring back from abandoned facilities but I don't think I have the rocks to go where some folks go.
Oh and another thought for the OP: I'd never go alone (I see you aren't), I'd keep a solid eye on cell phone reception and I'd carry a quality stainless steel police whistle or one of those canned-air boat horns.
If something happens and you get stuck or trapped, to hell with being discreet at that point.

You should pop in HERE (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?p=8127017&posted=1#post8127017) for a chat. Some of the guys go in for the urbex stuff, and i know one lives in Reading. ;)

RR, is it a new build, or is it derelict and up for refurb? The old stuff has more of interest, clapped out machinery etc. I've only done one explore, and was pretty much at 10mm the whole time, but i love my UWA. I'm fairly sure one of the guys shot the whole day at 85mm, and had great shots.
Have you looked at any of the Urban Exploration sites out there, for inspiration?
