Congratulations. Beautiful photograph. For 3 and a half grand I'd roll out a red carpet and deliver it on a white horse

Still looking for a reliable method, but I've received the payment $$$ and put out the order to the large format printer..I can only do up to 17x22", which is plenty wide for most people...but then there's the guys with the mega huge walls I guess...48x60"...It's coming to me, first, then I'm going to have to think about how to package or box it or roll it. I suppose I should've thought of this beforehand but when does anyone ever order a 4x6' print???
As you can obviously tell this is a first for me  I'm still buzzing!
I normally get excited when I make a "big" sale such as 300-400$ like this and this is 10x as much (nearly)!
Thanks Photomenicely, I love that shot too!
I can't wait to see what it looks like..I bet all the stars will be an inch or two from each other! They're all accurate to the tee, too. You can see actual constellations in the uncompressed file. Jpeg online really kills it for previewing but they're still very impressive.
I love printing large. If I was a millionaire I'd print all my shots at 48x60 and coat my walls in them.
21 megapixels of glory baby!

Charge her another $2000 to frame it and hand deliver it. Canada's not THAT big. :p

You know I got these really nice eco-frames lately for 20$
They're really really nice, 16x20".
On the other hand I know that the same size of frames cost 120$ if they're done custom.
I'm sure she's got a frame already picked out...most do for sizes of over 11x14" in my experience.
But I wonder what a frame would cost to put up a print of that size...or where you would get it.

Wow! Congrats! That's an amazing return. Has it not just paid off the 5D2 all on its own?! Well done mate. I think it's good that it's getting sent to you first. It means you'll get to see how brilliant it looks that big :) But of course, then you'll want to do it yourself :p

Thanks guys, les, sky, glenn, rumple;
I paid off my equipment last month  I'm going to break fully even and start profiting by the end of july at this rate.
By then I really hope to get started, now that my books are in order and I'm fully operational.
I've had a lot of days where I think I'll just give up, or quit completely, stop doing it...I think everyone gets these moments. Push on, push on, keep on trucking on. Chances are I won't be a millionaire (actually who ever knows?) but if I can make a sale like this every month  whooo boy...I'll feel like a million bucks and that's enough for me!

You have very unique images in a market saturated with porn, skaters, baseball and all manner of tree and bush / mountain shots. Yours stand out for that reason. Find a local professional printer if not then the web. For your work calypso imaging here in Santa Cruz is top notch. They will take your image to the next level, they really di incredible work. They have been used for years by top notch photographers from around the globe. go here

Perhaps you can talk to them, about your project and they can help. One nit of info - they are really anal about quality, so pay close attention to what they say for file prep it makes a world of difference. I used to use them for all my E-6 and LF printing before they moved. I really think that your images could use a printer that cares more about quallity than the average schmoe. When they use to do my LF E-6 I would get calls about the tiniest matters, like actual exposure values, true ISO on my film meter usage possible color shifts. I learned a hell of a lot just by hanging out in their lobby.

Thanks for the tip les, it's much appreciated. I'll look into them, especially about the gold fiber silk Ilford paper; top of the line stuff! Looks like they've got a lot more options than the standard large-format print lab.
Looks like I've got a ton of reading into to do about the high end fine art world, to be honest I'm just getting started saturating my market with myself and exposing my art in as many places as possible.

After a brief correspondence back and forth I will be shipping her an original 48x60" on varnished canvas:
$$$$$3500.00$$$$$$ I suggest that, unless you're very sure of yourself, hold the shipping for a few weeks until your bank can certify that the check has cleared all the way down the line. People have been burned over that.
