My brother likes pictures and for his birthday I figured I would use my camera and create a photo book of his house how I view it. Here are some pics maybe you can CC for me.

With the exception of a couple of the shots, there is insufficient depth of field.

In my opinion, your close up work must use all of the techniques and tricks to get more depth of field, because out-of-focus material is not pleasing to the eye.

I wouldn't say material is out of focus. I intentionally focused on specific targets. Although that is why I posted this in the CC section.

#2 is the best of the bunch, IMO. Excellent DOF & color. #4 is perfectly exposed and nicely composed, but not enough DOF--focus is on a non-integral part of the hooks.

Very nice idea.

I like the concept a lot, but these photos lack something. i think more interesting angles with more thought to composition might work better. But you're on to something. Keep shooting.

Me too like your idea a lot. Thats going to be funny gift

I like myself to go around in my house (i live with mates) and shoot when it's really messy and thats really fun to watch them later (or show to others :) )

Thanks for the comments guys. I do see your point about the DOF being too shallow on certain pictures. It is something I am still working with and I am just goofing off a little bit. Here are a few more pictures I took the other day.

I am unsure as to why he had that token lying in his key bowl but whatever :)

I see what you are saying about the original pictures. I am new to the camera and trying to learn how to work with it properly. I appreciate the input and I am trying to get a better grasp on proper DOF.

4 out of the group of 5 in your latest posting are much better in my opinion.

DOF is usually expensive and generally requires lots of light or a high ISO sensitivity.

Which of the five do you think needs work do you think? The first one with the figurine maybe?

Yes - I think that it ought to be sharp from nose to hind feet. However, it is also good to have that background out of focus, but in final analysis, it is your call as the artist.
