1st of all thanks to all the people who helped me pull this stunt off. Jose San Luis and Raimel thanks for helping me take the shot of my dreams.

2nd of all this is my 1st post on this site :)

I wish I would of had a wide angle, and I wish I would of walked 10 more feet to the right. But my heart was racing and I could of gotten caught, or hit by a car at any second. Basically I was dropped off before the off ramp and I walked up the ramp with my gear and a orange cone that I hoped would help people notice me on the 1 lane ramp. I was up there for about 10 minutes, before my ride went back around the highway loop. During those 10 minutes I dealt with a lot of wind moving the tripod, cops seeing me honking and pointing there spot light at me, strangers honking at me, and risking the chance of almost getting hit by multiple cars.

The pictures were taken with a nikon d300 and a nikon 18-200 lens.

All in all it was worth it to me. Regardless of my position on the ramp, and the fact that I did not have a wide angle, I still got the shot that I dreamed of. Well thats about it.

If you would like the 1st picture in high resolution for your back round/desktop here is the link. http://www.mediafire.com/?aw2dvjmmrgn

The one I like is the 2nd one. I would say the color tone needs a bit of adjusting to be a bit less orange/yellowish unless that is the artistic direction you were looking for.

The top one has a bit of flaring on the left side of the lens. The last one is experiencing some as well. The top photo could be a bit darker if you ask me have you tried speeding up the shutter speed or dropping down the F stop to try to ensure it comes out darker yet still has the traffic movement you want?

Thanks, pardon my ignorance but how do you fix 'flaring' and what exactly is it? Its it a problem with the lens or setting? Ive never heard of that term before.

I was dealing with the glass fogging up also. I pulled the cam out of the car and it was colder than the air so i kept fogging up on me. I had to take what i would in the limited window of time that i had. Next time i know to drive around windows down lol.

The fstop in those pictures was 18 - 22 with a shutter of about 30 seconds. I can always raise the f stop or make the shutter faster to allow less light in, which will make the picture darker. Is that what you mean?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I circled the areas on the pictures I am referring to. Not sure whether the official term is ghosting or flaring. Also I am unsure on how to suggest preventing that in these pictures. Do you have anything on the end of the lenses such as a filter?

Pretty good, man, pretty good. Really crisp, lots of detail. I'd say my faves are 3 & 5. Love the clarity in the middle portion of 3 and how you framed 5 with the piping. what f-stop were you shooting at here? shutterspeeds?

The fstop (aperture) in those pictures was 18 - 22 with a shutter of about 30 seconds.

No no filter for some reason that night. I have no idea where my uv filter went. You think if I would of used a UV filter that flaring would of gone away?

Maybe the lense was just dirty?
