Greetings,
The picture will be much better with fill-flash.

It's a big image, hard to get a perspective on it with my monitor.
But she looks happy in her birthday dress, with a helmet on, leaning on the bars: Captures the moment. A little fill will help the over all exposure.
I like to see one with her grinning, hair and dress trailing in the wind, pedalling by.

Not exactly blowing in the wind but........

Either fill flash or partial meter on the face only. Fill flash would be just enough flash to light the face properly which is too dark because of the sun behind her. Partial meter on the face (something I'm just trying to get used to) is quite easy with AE lock on the camera. It reduces the area that is used for metering for proper exposure. It would probably blow out the background in your photo. She is cute and dressed for some interesting shots, especially on a bike.

I don't particularly care for the framing. Too big and obvious.

Yes I agree about the framing...I won a copy of PS Elements off ebay two weeks ago and I think I got scammed! Just filed a non delivery claim. I would really like to start playing around with this program.

Thanks for the advice.

Fill flash would clean that up perfectly, but in the future, try not to shoot with your subject's back to the sun. Obviously, certain situations don't allow for you to control the situation, but in general try to not shoot against the sun. Hope that's a helpful tip for you.

The 300D came bundled with PSE 2. I'm not sure if anyone bundles PSE 3 with their cameras yet.

It's agreat shot and says everything about the moment, but I agree that it needs the fill in flash

I like the shot. Like everyone said, she could have used some more light on her face.

The border, on the other hand, is cheesy. Sorry. :(
