I am shooting at Red Rocks later this year, and would like any tips or thoughts for those who might have shot there in the past. I am to have free rein, full access during the show. I know the bands would love some shots that show the rocks etc. in the backgrounds from the stage. I am a tad nervous, and excited all at the same time. Love to hear any suggestions.

I have not shot at Red Rocks but I do know about the venue. If you have full access I would split my time between the photo pit, side stage and up by the soundboard. There is a tunnel that leads from backstage to the soundboard under the audience. Many of the acts that have played there have signed the walls, added artwork...even created graffiti art. The tough part with the tunnel is climbing the ladder, thru the rock to the area. The view from the soundboard give a good overview of the stage and the City of Denver in the background. Try to get there early and walk around. There are more interesting angles with all sorts of background that you can file away for show time.
