As an indoor experiment I tried some shots of a cherry being dropped into a wine glass. It was filled with ginger ale and the back ground is a pair of black nylon shorts. The lighting is just an overhead fluorescent, no flash. I got way too many reflections, should have darkened the room. I used a 50 1.8 set at: 160s, ISO 800, f 1.8. C&C Welcome.

I like the black and white conversion with the colour popping. But I think it would have more impact if you could have got the shot when the cherry hits the water or there is more of a splash to convey the motion

I would use club soda or seltzer water the gingerale looks out of place and I thought the glass was dirty.

Club soda was the original plan, but ginger ale was the clearest carbonated liquid I had on hand. I plan to try again with better set-up.

I like the black and white version the best.

Seems out of focus to me.

I would have gone for the level of the liquid to have been more on the same plane of the image. Flash could have served better to have been bounced and also I think using an open shutter in a darkened room using the fired off camera flash would have got you your shot.
Well done though for a great first effort.
Cheers,
Mark.
