Is it my luck or what?? First 20D was sent back to reseller for the freezing problem. I get the new replacement and it's messed up too. The main dial by the shutter release button sometimes turns without "clicking" and doesn't change any settings.
How long do you think Canon will take to fix the problem?

By "clicking," do you mean audible clicking noise, or do you mean you feel the click?

Mine does both, but it is not a very loud sound.

Have you checked that you've always turned the camera fully on? "On" leaves the QC wheel locked; the next position beyond that allows it to function.

What setting is your camera on? Is it not changing things when it's on Manual then you may have a problem. Of course you MUST be able to read the in-the-viewfinder information like shutterspeed and so forth. If you don't the camera is just not turned on or has gone to sleep.

I think (although I have yet to use these settings) that some of the brain dead Program modes may remove any control that that wheel would normally give you. Choose Manual and see if that helps. If all of a sudden the wheel is working on Manual (and it should be controlloing the shutterspeeds) then refer to your instruction book to see when it may be disabled by mode selection.

He's talking about the other dial by the shutter release button (IDK what it's called technically).
Either way, that should work at all times when camera is on

I'm talking about the little notched dial on top of the camera by the shutter release button. You should be able to feel it click every time you turn it left or right regardless if the camera is on or not. Sometimes you have the click feel sometimes it feels loose like it's not engaging. Either way something is not right. :(
