This was the first game I shot with my Mk.II-N and the 300 f/2.8L IS. Well, hopefully they turned out.
And yes.. I KNOW you need faces, but these are great plays and it's difficult to position yourslef to see the peoples' faces when you can only stand and shoot from one angle with 2 other photographers and 3 newscasters. So hopefully thats okay.

What's the mantra? No ball, no face, no picture. Still, the first one is a good shot and the catcher's mom and dad would want that one. The second picture is a little dark (IMO) but still a good picture considering your difficulties.

Rules are made to be broken. Besides, conditions don't always allow you to get the ideal image so you make the best you can with the hand you're dealt. The main thing is that you captured the action.

I agree. You can't always get faces, especially when there is a play at the plate. It still is a good shot and matches almost exactly the shot the local newspaper used on the cover of the sports section the next day as their shooter was right next to Erik.

Chris & Erik - I still say you guys should setup a remote camera or two. ;)
