Hi all -
I downloaded the manual fine, but when I try to print it every page has the word "COPY" printed across it in big letters. Is there any way to get rid of this?
Thanks, Sky

I remember somebody else posting this question here, and at another forum.
I THINK the answer was "no". But, do a search here and in google.

I posted that in another forman.. Why can't you get rid of COPY on each print and why is it on each page? the manual you get is so small I want to at least see it to read it!

drisley - Thanks for the tip. Looks like I'm stuck with the watermark.
plove53 - You can enlarge the manual in Adobe after downloading it. Use Options at left side of window or use the icon in Adobe toolbar at top of page to enlarge the width. I'm using Adobe 7.0.
Here's another post addressing that issue...
Enlarge it to 8 1/2 by 11 inch format this way inside Acrobat:
options:
PRINT
PAGE HANDLING
PAGE SCALING
"FIT TO PAPER"
Gook luck.

I was stuck with the same problem, too. But a fellow member on another (french PC users) forum asked me to send him a copy of the PDF file and... he sent me back a watermark-free version the day after.
I asked him which tools he used to do so, but he laughed quite a bit and never wanted to tell me which hacking software tools he had used. Everyone has one's small "recipes", I guess?
Anyway, I could mail you a copy of my clean PDF... but it's a fench version!

Are we talking a replacement manual here? I am looking to purchase the 20D in the next couple weeks, does it not come with a hard copy manual?

It depends on where your camera comes from. Very often, low-volume dealers do not stock large quantities of gear and purchases batches from a country or another, depending on the international availabilities.
That's more likely to happen when there is an global shortage of a model, or during the first weeks after a new product has been introduced. Eve, when buying in the USA, you may get a box with, say, a german or japanese manual inside.
In Europe, this is forbidden by law (at least in France) and the seller must enclose a copy of the national language version manual. But when you shop on the internet for instance, things are different.
Then the only way to get an understandable booklet is to order a manual from Canon (expensive) or to download a copy from their website. But then, you'll get the version with the "copy" watermark across each page.

I've NEVER seen this occur.
Sometimes Canon will ship a product to the USA with an international manual, and it has English and several other languages all in the same manual.

I have a "cleanskin" 20D manual if anyone wants one. Only an email away!

Sort of a work around to the watermark.....at least in WinXP.
Bring up the manual in Adode Reader and size the page to what you want to print (full page or a small section). Use the <CTRL/Print Screen> function of Windows to copy the screen image to the clipboard. Now open your image editing software, new file, and paste the clipboard contents to create the page. Adobe Photoshop Elements has an option to create "New From Clipboard" that simplifies this. The image will include all of the desktop, but with a little work the extra can be trimmed. I use ACDSee to quickly select the portion of the page to keep and then save it. You may have to play around with a few values to get it how you want it to look, but it does at least print without a watermark.
My goal is to resize the JPG's and get a group of them onto a single page that are still readable. What's good about this method is the ability to cut and paste small sections how you want.
