I need around 8m x 8m piece of paper or carton, so do you have some place to recommend? Something else than protography company.
How about printing press?
Everyhing's closed rest of the week here so i'll call next week.
thanks.

You need to give us some clue where in the world you're located.
You won't find paper 8 meters wide. I don't know if there's a paper mill in the world that wide. If you could find it, you'd need a pretty big truck to haul it.
The standard roll width for seamless backdrop paper in the US is 9 feet, about 2.7 meters. Shipping costs are quite high, so most people try to find a local vendor. The folks at your local camera shops should know where to get it.

There are 12' wide rolls too, but they are VERY long then too- about 144', not 36' like the 9foot roll is.

Well it could be like 10x2m and then buy two of those.
I live in southern Finland.

can we ask what you plan to shoot on that wide a BG? It seems like a studio with a painted cyclorama wall might be better for the application.

I dont have a "plan" -- just want to fill wall of my studio all over. Looks kinda silly if you have 6m wide wall and then only 3m wide bg.

yeah- let me tell ya it's real fun shooting a model over 5' 6" and the BG is only 9' wide. The angles make things very limiting if she's stretched out at all. I try to keep them 5+' off the BG. In a perfect studio world, I'd have a cyclorama wall about 15-18' wide, and at least 15' tall.

Cant i put that paper in 'cyclorama' shape? I've seen lot of those.
In perfect world i would rent a hall for a studio. cant do that right now : )

you can get a decent bend in the paper, but you still have to deal with the seams. Also, the actual wall can be used as a prop; you can't have the model lean into your paper :)

You could always paint the wall.

So what do you suggest? Something else than paper?

Use that white tile board - there was a post on it some time ago - I'm sure someone who is bored will post it soon - or you could search for it - sorry, don't have time right now.
Best of luck!

The whiteboard is fine if you want the reflective properties. You could always paint the floor too, if you can get an epoxy to match the wall paint.
