Hi all

Does anyone know if there is a way to retain IPTC data in files saved in DPP.
It seemd that neither RAW conversions or JPG files retain this information. (Or am I doing something wrong)?

As I use breezeBrowser download pro and write my IPTC data at the download stage it is a pain having to write it again after using DPP. I have BB Pro but prefer DPP for some work.

Best wishes

Just digging up an old thread, 'cause this is the one thing that drives me crazy about DPP. And makes my workflow a lot less 'flowing'...
So: Solution anyone?

Now I just copy a IPTC template over to the converted files in iView, but it makes using file-specific keywords etc. rather a lot of work to do twice. (first add IPTC to the CR2 file, then again to the tiff).

Edit: just saw that this thread is in the wrong forum... I'm sure the mods will move it to RAW and PP....

I, too, am frustrated that DPP drops most if not all of intersting Canon maker notes. If I remember to do so, I use BreezeBrowser Pro to copy the EXIF from the CR2 files to the DPP created JPGs. This can be easily done as a batch if the image names haven't changed.

Hmmm. I use iView. I can't copy an entire IPTC template over from .CR2 to the .tif or .jpg files AFAIK. (at least, not when a lot of files have different keywords etc.) I'd end up with the 'generic' template without all the specific keywords...
If someone nows a way, I'd be happy to hear....

Canon up till now suggests using DNG... (link: last Q&A) (http://digitaljournalist.org/issue0607/tech-tips.html)

Update: Turns out I can!
This (http://forum.iview-multimedia.com/viewtopic.php?p=25020#25020) thread at iViews user forum, got the script 'copy from items with same name' to work. Jay! One major nuisance less....
