I am researching the various online stock agencies like Corbis, Alamy, Photos to Go, AP, Getty and others. Trying to avoid the cheap stuff like iphoto or photos to go, my opinion is that the most reasonable agency seems to be Alamy.com
They do have quality check and minimum standards to be met, that seems important to me as it qualifies as a serious business. As a matter of fact, what I have seen in their catalogia seems quite good material.
They both manage either the Royalty Free (at the price you decide to sell) and the Licensed (using their own fare calculator, that to my ignorance seems to give fair results in calculating fares).
The financial part seems honest, they either go with a 65/35% split in favor of the photographer with no hosting fees or for a more convenient - if you are sure you sell a lot - 75/25% with hosting fees (that is 10c/per image/per month)
Honestly, it does not seems so bad to me, but OTOH I have no specific experience on this matter.
What do you think ? Anybody has experience on this ? Remember that I live in a country where the business is almost closed to newcomers for several reasons, and thats why I am looking at online services.
