ok i want to start taking pictures of the moon but i dont have any lenses to get that close. i understand that it is possible to use a teliscope as the lens with a connector. i have a 900mm Polaris teliscope and the eye piece conector is oftley small at 1 inch. is there a picec that can fit on my canon XS that will be able to be addapted to this?

What you need is a T-ring that attaches like the lens does and slips into the focuser like the EP does.

Or you can get creative and do what I did, unscrew the part of the eyepiece that slides into the scope, take a camera "cap" plastic cover that goes on camera body when lens is not mounted and drill a hole in the center just slightly smaller than the barrel from the eyepiece. Hot glue the barrel to the outside of the camera cap. Mount on camera, slide into telescope. I always made sure my camera strap was wrapped around the scope in case the glue let go, it never did, but better to be safe.

Hello bromm,
I did something similar with my 40D bodycap, I used A and B epoxy and it is still as solid as a couple of years ago.
Regards.
Jim.

The standard sizes are 1.25" and 2", but there are some 0.965" adapters out there, which I'm guessing might be the size you need. Something like this.

Out of stock at the above site, but I'm sure you could search and find them elsewhere. The T-Ring you'll need will be a Canon XS specific one.
