Having found out to my utter frustration that there is a compatibility issue with Crucial CF cards and the S230/Ixus V3 i have returned my 256Mb card to crucial for a refund. The guys at crucial admitted that there was a problem.

The question is - what do i buy as a replacement?
I would be most grateful if anybody out there with an s230/ixus v3 and 128Mb or 256Mb compact flash card could let me know what make they use.

I know that Sandisk work fine, but over here in the UK, Sandisk are not exactly cheap and i also suspect that the sandisk cf cards are not particularly fast either.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I use Sandisk, as they are cheap here (Canada) especially when you get it 50% off like I did ! No compatability issues and have not noticed a speed problem.

I have a Sandisk 128 MB card and an S45, both have been working great, with no sign of slowness. I recommend getting a 256 MB card. I filled my 128 up with 144 various size (45% large resolution) superfine quality pictures and I didn't have any more memory with me, so I had to stop taking pictures when I wasn't ready.
