I like the first one, very candid....I like the fact her scarf is covering part of his face. Were the colors fabulous?;)
Second is good, but I would crop.just to get rid of the crotch to the right( my right) and the legs...

That 2nd one -- Try a tight crop on the musician camera-right.
And if you had a shot of that guy alone.......
BTW, very nice B&W conversions!
#1 is just about perfect!

The tonalities of these two shots are just fantastic. This photographer understands what it takes to make a good monochrome print.

thanks everyone for your feedback, I took about 80+ shots and some of the horn player alone and they came out pretty good.
I have been working on monochrome and am pleased with the response, I think it reassures my point that for black and white to work regardless of what you do, good exposure is must.
