I normally don't post in the critique corner as a matter of habit but I felt unsure whether to post in the B&W or Landscape forae, so ended up here... ;)
Always looking forward to learn more, so feel free to say what you think.
I welcome any comment that you may have to offer on this photo.

I like it. I almost wish the dog wasn't there. He's so small that I want the picture to be zoomed in on him/her or, conversely, that he wasn't there so it wouldn't distract me. Know what I mean? (Probably not, I am insane.... :D )

That is some pretty good B&W processing. I like it. The dog makes me wonder what he was doing down on the float... maybe he is just a normal dog and was following his nose around like most dogs do :)
Nice shot. Let's see some more of that area if you have them.

Beautiful shot! I think I like it better cropped at the bottom to eliminate the rocks in the foreground. That seems to focus my attention more on the dog and its reflection. That's where the interest is for me.

Thank you!
I do know what you mean. I strugled with that feeling myself, but then decided to give it a chance as found out that the dog in the photo, along with the scenery, made me watch the photo for some time.
But I agree it may be a bit distracting.
That's part of what I want to find out.
Is the dog there helping the photo?

Hi Ken,
Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you like it.
I see the dog made you wonder. That's good... I think...;)
He was curious about the float and his owners had been there, so I guess he was following his nose.
But I expected that people seeing the photo would wonder what the dog was doing there, coming into land. I thought it had enough interest. Maybe too much...
Processing was:
- In color, adjust levels and burn colors as bit (25% I think)
- chanel mixer all set to red only and then, monochrome.
- set the sliders to 110% red; 16% green; Blue -18%.
- adjusted the constant marker to -8% to increase shadows.
I have other images but didn't get arround processing yet. I will certainly try to post later.
Many thaks for your input Ken.

Thank you for your comments.
I will try to see what happens without the rocks there. Please feel free to use the photo and transform it if you want to have a go at it.
