Hi folks,

I am using a Nikon Coolpix 880 3.34 MP.

I have taken several hundred pictures and they all seem to come out way, way too pink. The pinks seem to be enhanced greatly.

I have had the same problem with Orange.

What am I doing wrong ?

I'm not a photographer, I am a computer geek.

I suspect that I have a very basic setting incorrect.

This problem is most prevalent when it is set on Auto.

PLEASE HELP !!

Normally we frown on this kind of answer, but since there aren't many Nikon users here, it's the best I can do.

If your camera is not malfunctioning, then it sounds like you have a problem with white balance. You should check your manual (or look online) for how to properly set your white balance. If the white balance is set wrong, it will give the images a definite color cast.

After white balance, I would look into general color calibration from the camera to the computer and monitor to the printer. With some printers and papers, you will get a color cast. Change the paper type and get rid of the color cast, or set up a color adjustment in the printer driver to adjust the color one way or the other.

Very easy way to get rid of the pink is with photoshop by using the Adjustments "Auto Color" (Ctrl + Shift +B) this will usually take out any reflection or color that shouldn't be there. When I take pictures of green things I usually need to AutoColor cause it adds a yellowish green to the picture.

Do you have a "Parameters" option in your Menus? Maybe you can turn down the RED option. )If you haven't done the RTFM thing at least 3 times since you've bought it, then now's the time!) ;-)

To be honest, we are all guessing unless you post an example. Since everyone else is guessing, I might as well join in ;) Have you tried adjusting the saturation?
