I own a Canon EOS Elan IIe body and lenses to match. I want to buy a DSLR body and need to know if my current lenses will work with the digital bodies and if so, which bodies will accept them. Thanks in advance for the help!

All EOS lenses work with all EOS cameras. The absolute only exception is the digital EF-S lenses which only work with the 300D, 20D and 350D prosumer cameras. Since you're new into digital, that would not apply. All your lenses will work on your new and coming digital SLR.

Welcome to the forum, Fur.

Thanks for the help. I am looking forward to the new world of digital and will probably have many more questions in the future. Always nice to find a good forum with nice, knowledgeable folks!

I made this switch late last year, although I had an Elan 7e (EOS30 down these parts).

I got the kit 18-55 kit lens to make up for the loss of wide angle due to the crop caused by the smaller sensor, if you shoot wide alot and you get an APS-C sized sensor, it may pay to do the same, or you could look at some of that nice L stuff as well!

But FB could be in the market for a full-frame 1DS-series. ;)

Former film SLR user here too! You'll find that you'll shoot more pictures and bracket endlessly. Welcome to the club.

That did cross my mind as a possiblity, but I assumed otherwise based on current kit.

That is what I had and I could only barely afford the 20D!

A 1DS will save on the addional cost of an extra lens or two though ;)

No worries of me jumping straight into a 1D. Even if I did have the money I think I would still start with something simpler. I have my eye on the Rebel XT...seems to be a pretty good value.
