Why don't more people use it?

To me the idea that you can upload your images as an archive and then just copy which ones you want to a gallery for public or private viewing is a nice way of doing it.

You can do self fullfilment products or use their printer.

The customisation isn't huge but neither is zenfolio and it seems a better site to me.

it is quite expensive. Printing from there isn't that easy. Not many options on how to accept CC.

By printing I mean having it fulfilled through them (mpix).

I like their new template system, I like keyword system. But to be honest for the money I would rather purchase photocart.

I am trialling it at the moment to see how it goes.

I haven't checked out photocart, might take a look now.

It's so confusing getting it all set up!

it is never easy. Photocart will take a more manual approach, the others out there like zen, smug etc... they do all of the legword for you but they also take 12 to 15%.

Hmm. Checked out photocart. I like it, but to me it looks very much geared towards a proofing system rather than showcasing images as well offering purchasing. I looked for lots of sample sites but most are all wedding, event proofing etc, could not find one that was 'fine art' based. Not a criticism of course, but not sure it suits me.

Photoshelter only offers paypal though (other than merchant account)....would using paypal put people off?

I've given up trying to code my own site, It seems everyone's either a master designer or is paying someone to do a template for them.

I'm hunting around for alternatives ..just saw photoshelter but wooooeeee 600 bucks a year? I may as well hire a pro to set it all up for 2-3 grand flat.

Karl,

I know a bit of code as I studied it by myself a while back, but I just used wordpress and purchased a premium theme that I liked. Wordpress was free and the theme was 80 bucks.

Photoshelter is nice but until they accept more then just PayPal it isn't going to work for me. I'm using SquareSpace and ExposureManager now instead of Smug for about $25 a month.

Sauk, that was a good call! I'm searching the web for a template to buy for squarespace
