View Full Version : WORLD WIDE PHOTO WEEK: Part 170 - Summer

Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is "SUMMER". Be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme -- the sky's the limit!
Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between sunrise Monday and sunset the following Sunday. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snap shots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e.,embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=194511)
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO DAY INDEX (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=170603)
That's it! Have fun!

Thanks, Joayne!
This should be pretty easy for me.
I'm hoping to find a few minutes for photography, but my granddaughter & I are busy cleaning the garage & basement, so who knows.
Looking forward to everyone's posts.

Second is a constant negative in my neck of the woods, so constant I just got a photo of another one just a few days ago which I put in the Macro DSLR challenge (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=8158286&postcount=5). At least it has great colors for macro photography ;)

John.. the insects and especially the biting deer flies in your "neck of the woods" are really annoying in the summer! Nice Macro there and a beautiful anemone..
Come on down John.. The pool is always open :)

I'm likin' the deckchairs. They are a shot all of their own just waiting to happen.
I had to bail out last week as had ankle problems and couldn't walk anywhere. Maybe this week, tho' I'm still sore!

Joayne -- Your pool looks so inviting!
John -- We could do without the flies, although they are seldom a problem here.
Yesterday I found a few moments to shoot.
We had planned to attend a carnival, which is an annual summer event.
But we were too tired after a long day of basement cleaning.
So instead of carnival shots I took this wild, roadside lilly.
Around here, these day lillies are the first to bloom each year, and whenever you see them, you know that summer has arrived!

Davey, sorry to hear about the bum ankle.. I broke mine a couple of summers ago, missed out on the pool :( Put some ice on it!
Barbara, I love day lilies! It's true they are a great first sign of summer.
Crissa - I love that first shot. Nothing like equine therapy for so many reasons and so many people. Happy vacation, it looks like everyone is having a great time!
Any suggestions for the coming week? Anyone?

Crissa -- Yes, that first shot is special! And I like the low angle of the 3rd.
As for next week, what about "Connection" or "Around Town"?

Tater.. don't forget, what comes around keeps coming around! :) Hope you Aussies are getting the rain you need, but not too much! I've heard about the flooding and dangerous flash floods that can occur. Stay safe..
It looks like baby brother and Big brother there.

I am posting up as I write :)
