Hello all, I'm new to this forum, and I'm also new to photography as well. My friend bought me a Canon AE-1 Program for my birthday, (so i can learn with it before buying a bigger, better camera) and I'm really interested in all things macro. I love getting as much detail as possible.

Right now I only have a 50mm 1.8 lens.

So basically I just want to know if any of you have any suggestions for a macro lens for a beginner?
Any help will be greatly appreciated! :D

Thanks!

The AE-1 takes FD mount lenses which are difficult to find these days but they do show up from time to time. The two lenses your looking for for macro are the 100 f/4 and the 200 f/4

Actually found a 200 at B&H

You might find it easier to get yourself an FD 50mm 1.4 lens, and then use your 1.8 reverse mounted for macro work, too.

OP - If you're interested, I have an FD 100mm f/4 macro for sale. Please PM me if you're interested.
