Seen various frustrated comments on www about this.
-won't save corrupted cards - see other posts for s/w to do this ...
For me S40 with new 256MB CF card gave E50 Error repeatedly when attempting format on camera.
Solution was to use Zoombrowser - Camera Setup Options: Format CF card.
